A Shiratake white bamboo Chashaku, entirely handmade with great care. Perfect for measuring the amount of Matcha powder. An essential tool for the practice of Matcha and the tea ceremony, made with the highest quality, which will give longevity to its use.
Each Chashaku is unique and handcrafted, using authentic, 100% natural Japanese bamboo, grown locally in the small village of Takayama (高山), in northwest Nara Prefecture.
It is made using traditional knowledge and techniques from ancient times.
We are very honored to be able to offer the products of Suikaen's Japanese artisans. Yasaburo Tanimura has inherited the cutting-edge technique of over 500 years of chasen and chashaku making, which has been passed down from generation to generation.
The company is run by Yasaburo Tanimura, a 25th-generation master craftsman and one of the last 18 chasen masters.
Recommended Matcha quantities are... two chashaku for Usucha (liquid Matcha) and four for Koicha (thick Matcha).
Chashaku should not get wet - please clean with a dry cloth.
